Girl Boss

Kristy Dickinson, a proud Wiradjuri woman and founder of Haus of Dizzy and Haus of Ziggy Lee, inspires me deeply. As a single mother and creative force, she embodies fierceness and gentleness, qualities I aimed to capture in her portrait. Her jewellery brand champions intersectional feminism, First Nations pride, and LGBTQIA+ visibility. I incorporated bold slogans from her designs, reflecting Australia’s vibrant diversity. While likeness is key in my portraits, I often weave in text to highlight the power of words in driving social change. Kristy’s strength, resilience, and advocacy made her the perfect subject for my work.
